Jewish people are so famous for their both fancy-looking and religious type holidays. And you should remember that they are maybe the only community that has the most Holidays in number. Some Jewish Holidays are even celebrated more than once a year. Major Holidays are celebrated by Jews living all around the world while the minor ones celebrated by the most religious ones, especially those living in Israeli lands. Herzl Day – 4 May
I’m sure that you know of the famous Zionist leader, Theodor Herzl. He’s the founder of modern political Zionism which eventually led the widespread Jews to establish an Israeli country in the Middle East. Herzl Day is celebrated every year to honor the life and thoughts of the Zionist Leader.
It was used to be celebrated as a Holiday of Sacrifice, but throughout the years the celebration has been traditionally changed since the destruction of the Second Temple. Today’s Jews symbolically eat a piece of matzah on this Holiday.
There are 49 days between Passover and Shavuot and Lag BaOmer is the 33. day of this and Jews do verbal countings on this day along with the rest of the other days.
It is a national holiday of Israel that the reunification of Jerusalem and Israeli Country’s taking control over the Old City by defeating the Arab countries in the Six-Day War in 1967.
Being one of the major Holidays celebrated by Jews every year, Shavuot occurs on the sixth day of the Hebrew month, Sivan. It is significant over the first wheat harvest of the year. The Jews also celebrate the day as a commemoration of the day God gave the Torah to the Israeli People in Mount Sinai.
