Jewish Fasting Holiday

There are too many days of fasting for religions. According to most of the religious beliefs, members of a religious flock are not allowed to eat any food or drink anything during the fasting days. This may last only one day, 2 days or even 30 days.

Jews spend most of the day in synagogues with religious actings and fast for a period of 25 hrs. Most Jews go to Synagogs in Yom Kippur that’s because it’s the most crowded day in Synagogues

In Yom Kippur, Jews do some religious traditional activities. By executing these activities, Jews believe that they become the aspect of men before they were expelled from heaven. Some of these traditional observances are listed below:

  • Avoid sexual intercourse
  • Avoid wearing leather shoes
  • Fasting
  • Avoiding taking bath
  • Not using perfumes or lotions

When it’s Yum Kippur day, radio and tv broadcasts, public transportations are paused, airports, shops, and stores are closed. Those who don’t obey these religious traditions are seen as rude or disrespectful. However, the radio and T.V. stations work for exceptional matters like a threat to the nation’s security.
